With such busy and stressful lifestyles, we all know how challenging it can be to get a good night’s sleep. When you aren’t able to get enough sleep, or if the quality of sleep is poor, studies show it can take a toll on your stress levels, memory, and emotional and psychosocial well-being. If you’re struggling to get enough sleep, try one of these sleep products to help you fall asleep and stay asleep.

1. White Noise Machine

A white noise machine can help you fall asleep by emitting soothing noises, such as rain falling or birds chirping. This portable noise machine includes over 30 different sounds and has a headphone jack, which makes it easy to use if you have roommates. Plus, it’s small enough that it’s easy to bring with you when you travel.

2. Diffuser

Essential oil diffusers help to add moisture to the air, ideal for dry winters, and emit a calming scent. Be sure to choose high quality essential oils that are known to help with sleep, such as lavender or bergamot. This diffuser is the highest rated on Amazon and comes in four different colors, including one with a changing light display.

3. Weighted Blanket

Weighted blankets have been linked to a reduction in anxiety and a better night’s sleep. In one study, participants who were given weighted blankets found it easier to calm down at night, which means that if you’re someone who has trouble falling asleep at night, these are a good option.

4. Meditation App

Meditation and mindfulness apps can help reduce stress, which will make it easier to fall asleep at night. Many meditation apps also have sleep-focused guided meditations to help you unwind after a long day. Check out a complete list of meditation and mindfulness apps here.

5. Black Out Curtains

If the morning light is waking you up earlier than you’d like, or you’re stuck with an annoying street light outside your window, these black out curtains can help solve the problem. Many black out curtains also help block out sound, drowning out any noises outside.

6. Air Purifier

For those with allergies, or who are sensitive to air quality, an air purifier can help create a better sleeping environment. Air purifiers help to filter out pet dandruff, smoke, allergens, dust, and mold and most emit a soft noise that can also help lull you to sleep.

7. Tea

Sipping a cup of tea before bed can help relax you and get your body ready for sleep. Chamomile is known to have sedative effects and is a good option. There are also many sleep-related blends on the market, many of which contain chamomile, but also other herbs or flavors for some variety.

8. Blue Light Glasses

In this day and age, we know that telling you to put away your phones and TVs and other screens two hours before bed time probably isn’t realistic. So instead, try buying a pair of blue light glasses and wearing them starting at least two hours before bedtime, if you’re looking at a screen. Studies have shown that blocking out blue light for two hours before bedtime significantly improves sleep quality.
