Hollywood Star Reveals His Ultimate Muscle-Building Breakfast

Since retiring from strongman events, Hafthor “Thor” Bjornsson has increased his focus on training as he pushes to lean down (he’s shed 110 pounds) and increase his endurance in the lead up to his boxing debut. In a recent Youtube video, Bjornsson walks people through an average day in his life—including his three workouts and five meals.

“I’m very happy right now,” he says. “When I began losing weight, I was 451 pounds. And now I’m at 341 pounds. Feeling healthy.”

For breakfast, he consumes 200g of chicken, 3 eggs, along with a smoothie made of 150g of yogurt, 100g of berries and 40g of oats. He then starts his boxing practice by sparring with his coach to work on his balance and bodyweight.

Then he goes for the exercise bike for his cardio session. After this it is time for lunch: 220g of beef and 100g of green vegetables and 180g of white rice.

The workout of his day is his weight training session, including bicep curls, incline dumbbell presses, lat pulldowns, followed by his third meal: 220g of chicken, 100g of greens and 250g of potatoes.

“This is my least favorite meal every day,” he says. “I don’t like chicken. But I have new goals now, so my diet is slightly different. It’s cleaner. I’m never hungry but I’m also never really full.”

Meal number 4, is his personal favorite: 200g of salmon, 100g of greens and 100g of rice. After this he spends 15 minutes in his infrared sauna, followed by 15-minutes doing cryotherapy. Then it’s time for his final meal: 250g Greek yogurt, 30g of almond butter and 100g of banana along with a shake of 1 scoop of whey protein.
