Harrison Ford may be Indy or Han to you, but he is unquestionably one of the most well-liked celebrities in the business. And after a long, illustrious career, he is still working and looking and feeling fantastic while doing so!
How has a man who is 79 years old remained so fit and healthy? Although Ford hasn’t given out much information about his eating or exercise habits on the internet, he did with Ellen Degeneres.
In February 2020, Ellen DeGeneres sat with Harrison Ford and discussed his secrets for looking so good in his 70s.
“You look fantastic,” Degeneres exclaimed, to which the audience responded with a thunderous ovation. Ford quipped, “Well thank you very much. What did I look like before?”
When she inquired about his health regimen, he responded, “I’m doing nothing. I eat vegetables and fish. It’s really tedious.” He then goes on to confess that he has given up meat and dairy.
“I just one day said I was tired of eating meat…and I knew it wasn’t good for the planet… and isn’t really great for me,” Ford explained when asked why he made these dietary choices.
Many fans might not be surprised by this personal choice, especially if they know about his environmental activism. In fact, Ford addressed the UN in 2019 on the issue of preserving our planet.
Ford also manages to keep active on a daily basis, in addition to his recent food modifications.
“There’s a photo of you on a bike…have a look at your arms.” Degeneres displays a photograph of Ford riding a bike to her audience, asking, “What’s going on here? Do you exercise like crazy?”
“No, I don’t exercise like crazy. I ride a bike and play tennis,” says Ford.
Experts say as you get older, exercising is more important than ever. It can help you stay independent and prevent falls.
The best exercises for older adults are those that maintain or improve balance, flexibility, and strength. Tai chi, yoga, and Pilates are all excellent choices. Swimming is also a great option for those who enjoy it.
