How This 54yo NFL Player Stays In Shape

Shannon Sharpe may have retired from the NFL almost two decades ago, but he still maintains an elite level of fitness—and it shows. To celebrate his 54th birthday, Sharpe recently posted a photo of his muscular body, which would be rather remarkable for someone half his age.

“Celebrating his 54th birthday, the front and back of your favorite Unc,” Sharpe added. “Yes, today is unc’s 54th birthday. You probably would not have guessed it if I had not told you my age. Now that I’ve let you know, you probably don’t believe it. Happy Birthday to everyone celebrating a birthday today, and Cancer reigns supreme.”

Still, despite his retirement from the field, Sharpe’s workout regimen has continued to be intense, and he regularly posts a look at his workouts on social media fitness challenges and YouTube videos.

“I’m not going to say, ‘Man, I wish I could’ve done 5 more reps or whatever,’ when I’m finished with this drill,” he added in a video while doing a CrossFit-inspired exercise at home. “If you say that, then you didn’t try hard enough. You should drain the tank… You should feel like your lungs and heart are about to burst out of your chest.”

This material was imported from Twitter. You could look for the same content in a different format or obtain more information on their website.

“I’m not doing a Hansel and Gretel workout when I work out,” he explained in a 2018 interview with Men’s Health. “I don’t leave breadcrumbs behind. I didn’t save anything for the journey home.”

“They say that insanity is doing the same activity over and over but expecting a different outcome,” he went on. “At the end of the day, I get healthy and happy by repeating the same actions.”
