Intermittent fasting is routinely hailed as an optimal way to achieve weight loss, with many accounts showing that only eating within a specific time frame can support an person’s fitness goals.
In his new youtube video, Cam Jones of The Goal Guys tried intermittent fasting for 30 days. He also said he would not be exercising during his test.
“I will try the most common type of fasting, the 16/8 method,” he says. “Meaning I will not be eating for 16-hours and then eating my meals during an 8 hour period. I am putting my eating window between 11 a.m. and 7 p.m., so I am giving up breakfast.”
Around the half way point during his 30 day test, Cam started reporting the benefits. His hunger pangs were not as bad, he felt more productive in the mornings as he got straight to work instead of spending time with breakfast, and he was able to go for his morning jog after his 14-hours without food.
“Once my hunger was gone, this became much easier,” he said. “Hydrating a lot during the morning helped with managing my hunger. And when I eat, I try to eat healthier meals that get me through my fasting time. And the first meal after my fast is so good.”
Cam weighed 155 pounds at the beginning of the challenge, by the end of the month, he had lost 6 pounds.
