How Tom Cruise Stays Fit At 59

Tom Cruise is an excellent example of a great actor who has been in the business for many years. Tom Cruise is someone that most people want to know more about. In his twenties, when he played Top Gun, Tom Cruise looked amazing and highly fit, and he proved he still has it with the recent release of Top Gun: Maverick at age fifty-six. We adored all of his Mission: Impossible movies, and we’re looking forward to the next two. What keeps someone on top for almost 40 years? Tom Cruise doesn’t seem to age; he looks to be getting better with each passing year. We researched the star’s healthy habits and exercise secrets to discover how he maintains his youth. Continue reading to learn more about it.

Tom Cruise likes fencing, rock-climbing, sea kayaking, hiking—and the list goes on

The actor—also known as Maverick—confirmed with his many followers on Instagram, along with the phrase “New trailer for #TopGun has been released. See you at the cinema,” that he’s gearing up for the release of Top Gun: Maverick. His fans replied with a lot of enthusiasm for the first Top Gun and, of course, a lot of excitement about Top Gun: Maverick. There were tweets like “Cannot wait (fire emoji)”, “It’ll be worth the wait — amazing Tom #mightywings.”

On the big screen, Cruise is no stranger to working it. What are his secrets for looking young and ageless? He explains how he maintains his fitness, stating, “Sea-kayaking, fencing, caving… treadmill, weights… hiking, rock-climbing… I run… I do a variety of activities.”

“How we move is what conveys youth and energy, not how buff we are,” according to sports scientist Anne Elliott. “Regularly changing up your cardio and strength exercises with something like rock climbing or fencing—like Cruise—maintains balance and flexibility: the first two things that will give your age away.”

Cruise keeps his commitment to fans and all the other demands on hand with his busy schedule. But he finds time to get to know them, too, even while everything else is going on around him. Cruise says, “Yes, I’ll spend two hours with my followers. People are really nice when they show up; therefore, I’d want to say ‘hi’ to them.”

He’s recognized for doing his own daring stunts.

Cruise also insists on performing many of his own stunts. In Mission: Impossible—Fallout, Cruise leaps from a plane 25,000 feet above the ground into Paris, France in true Tom Cruise style while playing Ethan Hunt. In another Mission: Impossible film, Cruise’s character had to open up a vault that was completely underwater. To capture the sequence, Cruise jumped about 120 feet into a 20-ft-deep tank of water and had to hold his breath for four to six mins. He trained with diving professional Kirk Krack in a “breath-hold program” that was developed especially for people in the military.
