The Healthiest Drink In The World (Costs Under $1)

Cucumbers are high in vitamins and minerals that have anti-inflammatory and blood-clot prevention properties, allowing them to depuff skin. So… we now know that cucumber is beneficial for placing on our eyelids, but what else can it accomplish for us? To learn more, we spoke to Kara Lydon, RD (a licensed dietitian), who provided the benefits of cucumber water as well as if this simple drink is really the king of hydration. The findings were stunning in the greatest way imaginable. In fact, when it comes to health advantages and refreshing taste, cucumber water may actually surpass lemon water (I said what I said).

1. It’s filled with tons of antioxidants and anti-inflammatory vitamins and minerals

“Cucumbers are high in potassium, vitamin C, magnesium, B vitamins, vitamin K, manganese, and copper,” says Lydon. “While there is little data on cucumber-infused water, in particular, the vitamins and minerals present in cucumber have been linked to a variety of benefits.” According to Lydon, one particular feature of a cucumber’s vitamin C antioxidant capabilities is especially significant since it helps combat oxidative stress and inflammation linked with many chronic diseases.

2. Cucumbers can help manage fluid balance and support bone health

Cucumbers are high in potassium, which is involved in fluid balance and blood pressure reduction. They also include vitamin K, which aids bone health. Cucumbers are a wonderful gift that keeps on giving.

3. Cucumber water can help you stay hydrated

Although she acknowledges that there have not been a lot of studies done on consuming infused water (as opposed to whole foods), drinking cucumber water may be an excellent method to increase hydration, especially if you’re not a big fan of plain H2O. “Adding cucumber can be an easy method to enhance flavor in order for you to stay hydrated, especially as the weather gets warmer,” Lydon adds.
