To learn more, we spoke to Kara Lydon, RD (a licensed dietitian), who provided the benefits of cucumber water as well as if this simple drink is really the king of hydration. “Cucumbers are high in potassium, vitamin C, magnesium, B vitamins, vitamin K, manganese, and copper,” says Lydon. “While there is little data on cucumber-infused water, in particular, the vitamins and minerals present in cucumber have been linked to a variety of benefits.” According to Lydon, one particular feature of a cucumber’s vitamin C antioxidant capabilities is especially significant since it helps combat oxidative stress and inflammation linked with many chronic diseases.
